This project is a bicycle that I will be building for my wife. I am starting with a Bridgstone RB5 Mixti, 10 speed, 27" steel wheels. I will be building 650B wheels with Synergy Velocity rims, and phill wood hubs. These wheels will allow fatter tires & fenders. I will also add a Nitto Techtonic high rise stem and Nitto Albatross handlebars for a more upright seating position. I will post my progress as I go along.
80s Vintage Schwinn Traveler. 33" stand over. LUGGED STEEL FRAME. COMPLETE PROFESSIONAL RESTORATION. Shimano 400 derailleurs, quick release front wheel, chrome steel rims, chrome fork tips. This bicycle has been completely dissembled, frame & forked cleaned and waxed. All brite metal cleaned and polished. All bearing systems cleaned and overhauled (hubs, bottom bracket, & headset). Brakes, shifters, derailleurs, chain, & freewheel cleaned and reinstalled. Handlebars finished with cotton bar wrap, hemp twine & shellac. New tires, tubes, rim strips & cables. This bicycle rides, shifts and brakes as new. Own a classic for less than 1/2 the cost of an aluminum/made in China bicycle.
