My personal ride
This is my personal bicycle. I usually get in a couple of 25 mile rides a week on it. Heron touring frame 59CM. (A Rivendell/Grant Peterson design) Phil Wood hubs laced to Mavic A719 rims with stainless steel double butted spokes. Schwalbe Marathon Plus 700 x 38C tires (I dont like repairing flats on the road, I have over 800 miles now without a flat) Just added are the Gilles Berthoud Stainless Steel fenders. I think they really set the bike off. Wheels are held on with Pitlock locking skewers. (Replacement cost for this wheelset with the tires is around $950.00) Brooks Champion Flyer Special saddle, Brooks leather bar wrap & Brooks mud flap. Nitto seat post, stem, and handle bars. Shimano Ultegra cranks with 46/36 chain rings and an eight speed 12/32 cassette. Rivendell Grip King pedals. Shimano Ultegra long cage rear derailluer, Sachs Huret front derailluer, Suntour Superb down tube shifters. Pauls Components, Neo-Retro Cantilever brakes with Shimano DurAce levers . Nigle Smyth seat pouch (which contains spare tube, patch kit, Park Tools Multitool, 6" Crecent wrench, a pair of tire levers, a presta/schrader adapter, and a grease rag. Cat Eye battery powered lights, Cat Eye 6 function wireless computer (I'm doing good to work through 6 functions) and a Japanise Brass Bell completes the acessory package. Also in the picture is a Vintage Campy frame pump.
