As a helicopter pilot Scott was looking for a vintage bike with performance. We started with a Peugeot Competition that featured Reynolds 531 frame and Mavic wheels. Added Campy Veloce brakes for sure stopping power and a rare Shimano Sport LX rear derailleur that featured machined chain wheels spinning on ball bearings for sure quick shifting. We stopped short of adding wings.

At 6"3" and the mass to fill out his frame Dominic needed a bike that could carry the load. Starting with a 68CM Nishiki 12 speed, traded out the stock wheels for 40 spoke Super Champion rims laced to Bulls Eye cartridge bearing hubs for maxium strength. With the addition of a Brooks B17 saddle and rear rack Dom is ready to commute.

Justin was looking for a unique bike. We started with a Schwinn Voyaguer 11.8 in solid chrome. Added Nitto 44CM noodle handle bars, a longer stem to get the bars higher,Cane Creek aero brake levers, natural cork bar tape, Brooks Flyer honey saddle, Rivendell Grip King pedals, Out your back door military surplus sead bag, and a unique tail light that mounts to a fender brase on.

What have I been doing all summer?

I have received several emails questioning why I have done so little posting this summer. The answer is that I have sold most of my inventory that is available for immediate pick up so customers have been picking out bikes for me to restore from inventory and the are sold before restoration. I have also done several restorations of customer owned bikes. It has been pointed out to me that allot of folks enjoy seeing my work weather they are in the market for a bike or not. Modern Classic Soma Speedster

Started with a new 55CM Soma Speedster frameset made of Tange Prestige Steel with chrome head lugs and fork crown. Synegry Velocity wheels, Campy Veloce Brake calipers, Shimano Durace front derailleur, seat post & brake levers, Ultegra rear derailleur, Hyperglide 7 speed cassett, Trutave cranks & bottom bracket, Nitto alloy mustashe bar & lugged stem, Rivendell silver shifters, 28cm Ruffy Tuffy tires, & Grip King pedals. Toped off with a Brooks B17 Special in British Racing Green. I spent about an hour on it in the subdivision untill it got dark, cant wait to get it out on the open road for a workout.
